Resume

Ellen Heinrichs is the founder and CEO of the Bonn Institute. She has more than twenty years of experience as an innovation leader, journalist, speaker and communications expert for various media companies and international non-profit organizations. Prior to founding the Bonn Institute, she was Head of Knowledge Transfer and Innovation at DW.
Throughout her career, Ellen has been particularly interested in how journalism needs to change to stay relevant in a rapidly changing world. This is what motivated her to found the non-profit Bonn Institute, which has made it its mission to lead cross-industry conversations about how human-centred journalism can better serve people, in response to increasing news avoidance and declining trust in journalism.
The Bonn Institute experiments, researches, and collaborates with a variety of private, public and non-profit media organizations. It offers journalists workshops, events and networking opportunities and provides guidance for media managers on contemporary, relevant journalism.
Ellen Heinrichs is an author, trained mediator, solutions journalism trainer and agile culture coach. She was also a fellow at the Constructive Institute at the University of Aarhus (Denmark).
